Michelle Powell

Fifth Grade

My name is Michelle Powell. I am super excited to be back for my sixth year at Lincoln. I love teaching! I am passionate about helping kids see their potential, accomplishing hard things and finding their inner superhero. I earned my degree from Brigham Young University and taught 3rd and 4th grade for 5 years at Timpanogos Elementary in Provo before taking a break to raise my family. I enjoy teaching in a variety of learning styles, allowing students to find success at any level.

I come from a legacy of teachers. My grandmother taught in a one room school house in the 1930s. My mom was a middle school art teacher for 30 years. My dad taught accounting at UVU. I also have a sister and two brothers who teach. Teaching is in my blood. It’s my super power!

I love to spend time with my husband and my three amazing children, especially when we are traveling together. I love to travel! I have been to all 50 states and many countries around the world. Learning about other places and cultures excites me. I enjoy reading books, playing with my two huskies, going to the theatre, and eating dark chocolate sea salt caramels. I especially love to explore the beauty Utah has to offer right in my back yard. I am an avid snow skier, hiker, cyclist, and outdoor enthusiast.

I am looking forward to another incredible year at Lincoln Academy
